School of General Education

Overview

The Faculty of General Education of Dalian University of Technology was initially constituted by the School of Humanities and Law and the Department of Basic Teaching, which were established in the nascent phase of the inauguration of the Panjin Campus in 2013. Subsequent to the institutional restructuring and realignment, it was formally established on December 1, 2023.

This college assumes a crucial role in academic research undertakings and interdisciplinary academic pursuits within the Northeast region. Additionally, it has been actively engaged in a diverse array of educational cooperation initiatives with Panjin City, Liaoning Province, thereby making substantial and significant contributions to the educational endeavors of the local government. The college is furnished with state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities, encompassing multiple educational research bases and teaching research centers.

Presently, the college is proactively forging favorable and robust cooperative alliances with a multitude of renowned overseas universities. Such collaborative efforts not only fuel the incessant development of the college but also expedite its progression towards internationalization.

Talent cultivation and laboratories.

The School of General Education is vigorously committed to ensuring the teaching of basic courses on the campus, general education, aesthetic education, as well as the talent cultivation work for undergraduates and postgraduates majoring in relevant disciplines. Besides, it is also actively carrying out interdisciplinary and innovative research among basic disciplines.

At present, it has established a series of laboratories and centers, including the Sports Anatomy Laboratory, the Sports Physiology Laboratory, the Sports Rehabilitation Experimental Center, the Sports Rehabilitation Practice Center, the Physics Experiment Center, the Electrical and Electronic Laboratory, the Computer Room, the Business Negotiation Laboratory, the Simultaneous Interpretation Laboratory, the Simulation Training Laboratory and the Self-learning Platform Laboratory.

Faculty and Staff

The college boasts a team of high-quality teachers who are equipped with rich teaching experience and professional knowledge. Currently, there are 56 faculty and staff members in total, among whom 8 are full professors and 18 are associate professors. The teaching corps of the college is renowned for its commitment to excellence, with members constantly striving to enhance their teaching skills and update their knowledge reservoirs.
